By installing Honest Scanner ("the app") from the Apple App Store, you agree to these terms.

1. What Honest Scanner is

Honest Scanner turns paper into PDFs on your iPhone. Every step — capture, filter, OCR, PDF assembly, password protection, signature flatten, merge — happens on your device. There is no account, no cloud storage, no analytics, and no tracking.

2. Free vs. Pro

• Free: unlimited scans, multi-page PDF export, filters, folders, local search over titles, share PDF, save to Files.
• Pro (optional purchase): searchable PDFs (on-device OCR), signature, password protection, merge documents. Pro is billed by Apple through the App Store as a one-time non-consumable ($29.99 lifetime) or an annual subscription ($19.99/year). No free trial. No weekly subscription.

All payment, refund, and subscription policies are governed by the Apple Media Services Terms.

3. Your data, your responsibility

Because nothing leaves the device, we cannot recover:

• Documents you delete.
• Files locked with a password you have forgotten.
• Anything lost when you uninstall the app or reset your device.

Please keep backups of anything you need to preserve — through the iOS Files app, iCloud Drive, or by sharing to another destination.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to reproduce or distribute content you do not have the right to copy. Do not use the app to bypass rights protection on documents you do not own.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any particular file will be preserved.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Pro (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always at this URL. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the app will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
